Graduate Awards
All registered EEB graduate students, from all three (3) campuses, who are doing a substantial part of their research in a given year at KSR are eligible for the Zimmerman/Weis Award.
Two (2) awards are available each academic year and are funded by KSR and the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology.
The award is valued at the amount of your RA stipend, otherwise paid by your supervisor, plus a $750 top up.

Undergraduate Awards
- Award value to students: $8,000 (housing provided on site)
- Number of Awards: 2 awards available per summer term
- Duration: 16 weeks (mid‐May until mid‐August)
Students are responsible for their own food and living expenses. We require that the student be in residence at KSR for the summer, and that a graduate student, post‐doc, or technician who is capable of supervising the award winner be present on site at the start of the project, until the student is self‐sufficient. Our goal is to have talented undergraduates supported from the start.
Faculty advisors are responsible for research user fees, equipment, consumables, housing, and vehicle usage costs for the student. KSR will provide an estimate of these costs to advisors prior to awards being made and students being contacted.
