Community Assembly in Newly Created Ponds

This project is following the development of ecological communities in a series of newly created ponds. We will be sampling these habitats throughout the first summer after they have been established to determine which species colonize these habitats and when these species arrive. By tracking the development of these communities including the arrival of aquatic insects, plants, and other organisms, we can gain insights into the processes that shape the diversity of freshwater pond communities and how habitat restoration efforts can be best designed to facilitate the restoration of these environments.
